A Lens That Refused to Grow Old
There is something special about holding a lens that has already lived through half a century of photographic history.
This Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 was manufactured in the 1970s. More than fifty years later, it still finds a place on my Nikon Z9.
Between these two pieces of equipment lies my own photographic journey.
When I first learnt photography, the Nikon FM and this lens belonged to a generation that taught photographers patience.
Every frame mattered. Every exposure demanded thought.
There was no screen to review the result. No autofocus to rescue a missed moment.
Photography was slower.
Perhaps that is why it became more meaningful.
